Ed Davis says he was initially hurt by trade from Raptors, but has moved on

Ed Davis was becoming something of a cult favourite in Toronto this season. And just like that, he was traded.

Davis was perhaps the only positive surprise to an awful start to the year for the Raptors. In 24 starts, most of which were in the place of Andrea Bargnani, Davis averaged 12.9 points and 7.7 rebounds in nearly 32 minutes for the Raptors. But at the end of January, he was shipped to Memphis, with Jose Calderon sent to Detroit, in a move to get Rudy Gay to Toronto.

Since the trade, Davis has struggled to find playing time. He has played about 10 minutes per game in his first seven contests with Memphis, as Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph play heavy minutes for the Grizzlies up front. In advance of his new team’s game against his old team on Wednesday evening, Davis spoke with reporters.
